    @amanda Right click on the shortcut, click on the compatibility tab, choose compatibility mode and set win95 or win 98

    Open your cstrike , find motd.txt right click > Properties > Click on Read only , this is supposed to fix the issue according to google.

    if it doesn't , you can try to replace my motd with yours , i will provide a link below , download it , paste it in your cstrike folder and make sure to replace it with the current one , now if you have another motd file just delete it.

    Note : i am using Steam version.

    Like flawles said you need to replace your motd.txt with a new one.

    Don't join random servers.

    the reason why I use nsteam is sometimes because the smoke does not cause me delay in "D3D" mode ..
    on my steam account instead if smoke causes me to be late
